Can I request a specific teammate and/or coach?
Due to the exceptional growth of our league, coupled with the fact that the majority of our divisions have a draft process for forming teams, we can no longer accept special requests. Siblings in the same division will be kept together.
I would like my child to "play up" a division but that is not an option. What do I do?
All players have to register in their league age appropriate division. Please email [email protected] with your request prior to evaluations.
Requests to play above league age are based on skill and experience and have to be evaluated and approved by the VP of that division, the coaching coordinator, and the player agent. We will be in touch over the coming weeks during registration to let you know which evaluation to come to.
I am having difficulties with the Medical Release Form, please help!
The Medical Release form is a “hard stop” in the registration process. We must have one on file for every player. Please click the link that looks like a sideways paperclip to open a fillable PDF. Complete the form, save, and upload to the registration portal using the “+”. You may also access the form here.
Where do I find my schedule?
GameChanger will be the primary method of communication between your team manager/coaches and your team. Once your player has been allocated to a team (after registration has closed and teams have been drafted), you will receive an email notification. If your team does not show on GC right away, be patient, your team manager will have to import the team first. Once they have done this, you will have access to your team, your schedule, and messaging capabilities with your team. Remember, the email address used to register your player must be the same email address used for your GC account!

What is required of volunteers?
We are an organization that is 100% run on volunteers. It takes many hands and hearts to make Barrier Islands Little League a success! Our priority is to positively impact the youth of our community in a safe environment. No experience is required to volunteer! We only ask that you have the players’ best interest at heart including their safety, well-being, and development in a FUN environment.
ALL volunteers must be signed up through the registration system. If you have players in multiple divisions and want to volunteer for more than 1 division, you must be signed up as a volunteer for each division. Please do NOT create a new account for yourself. Volunteer sign ups need to be in the same account as your player so you will be “linked”. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have a scenario that would prevent this so we can make note of it.
All volunteers must complete a background check and Abuse Awareness Training annually.
Additionally, team managers, coaches, and team moms must also complete Diamond Leader Training. This is currently a one time training. Both the Abuse Awareness Training and Diamond Leader Training are done online and take approximately 20 minutes each to complete.
*Team uniforms will not be distributed until all background checks, Abuse Awareness training certificates, and Diamond Leader training certificates have been received by each member of the team staff (manager, coaches, team mom).
Weather Cancellations - how and when will we be notified?
In the event that we experience bad weather, we will notify you of any game cancellations through email and social media sites. Always assume games will be played, even if it is raining. Games will be announced by 4PM.
Team managers/coaches will send out messages via GameChanger as well.
Where are the fields?
Barrier Islands Little League is located at 3362 Maybank Hwy on Johns Island between the St Johns Water Company and Faith Lutheran church. There are 2 fields at this location that are considered our main fields. Field 1 is the front field closer to Maybank Hwy. Field 2 is the back field.
There is another field just a few minutes down Maybank Hwy near First Baptist church. This is generally referred to as the “First Baptist Field”. From Maybank Hwy, turn on Staffwood Rd and you will see the field on the left. Please park in the gravel parking lot at the church.
